Methodology

Calculation methodology

MopMargin calculates from entered assumptions. It does not provide national production rates, statutory payroll calculations, or guaranteed bid prices.

Model 1.0.0

Weekly visits × service weeks ÷ 12 gives average monthly visits. Multiply by cleaning person-hours plus other paid person-minutes ÷ 60 to get monthly paid person-hours. Loaded hourly labor cost is base wage × (1 + entered burden percentage ÷ 100) + additional hourly burden, unless a complete loaded rate is entered. Add supplies, equipment allocation, other direct costs, overhead, and contingency. Target price is total modeled cost ÷ (1 − target operating margin ÷ 100).

All arithmetic uses decimal math and displayed USD amounts use half-up rounding to two decimals. Internal calculations preserve more precision. An exact-month schedule uses the entered visit count instead of a weekly average. Sales tax, financing, and payroll-law calculations are outside this version.
